Things You Need to Know

Please dress your child in practical clothes. We enjoy a range of creative activities (jelly, paint and spaghetti can be messy).

For your child’s safety please ensure their footwear is practical. Flip flops are dangerous for climbing or playing with bricks and balls.

Studs only in ears please. There is nothing more painful than catching an earring on clothing.

A change of clothes is required in a drawstring bag to go on your child’s peg.

If you are not able to collect your child yourself, in the interests of safeguarding please inform the office or group leader giving details of the person you have nominated to collect your child. Please ensure that you inform the office or nursery staff of any change in mobile or other telephone numbers.

If your child has sickness or diarrhoea they need to be kept at home for 48 hours after the last occurrence before returning to Nursery.

Finally we do ask for £1 a week School Fund. This helps towards the cost of ingredients for cooking, Christmas parties, animal visits and theatre trips.

If you feel you have any problem or concern at any time - please see your child’s practitioner who will discuss these issues with you. If you still feel that matters have not been resolved then take it up with the head teacher who will make herself available at given times.

Golden Rules

Bring your child to Nursery on time. We start our sessions at 8:30am and at 12:30am. Your child will be offered toast and milk when they arrive. Registers will close at 8:45am and at 12:45am. Your child will receive a late mark if they arrive after these times. We understand that sometimes it is difficult to get your child to school on time but if you know you are going to be late, please call the school office and let us know.

Be on time to collect your child. The sessions finish at 11:30am and at 3:30pm. The staff have planning meetings every lunchtime and evening and are therefore not available to care for your child at this time. If you are going to be late, please call the school so that we can make alternative arrangements for their care.

Do not collect your child from Nursery early unless you have pre arranged it with the school office. It is very important for your child’s progress and development that they have every opportunity to be involved with the teaching and learning that goes on within our Nursery throughout the session. If you do collect your child early, it means that he/she is missing these opportunities.

Please bring your child to school regularly. If your child is ill, we ask that you inform the school office as soon as possible on the first day of absence. Please also let us know how long your child is likely to be away from school.

It is our policy to work in partnership with you at all times . If you have any problems or issues you wish to discuss with us, then you may do so either with your child’s key worker or Natalie.
